Sydney Singles Toastmasters Club was chartered in June 1996. Originally established as an Advanced Club, aimed at existing Toastmasters who happened to be single, it chartered before its first meeting! Club meetings were held on the fourth Sunday morning of each month in various cafes close to the city, fuelling caffiene addictions and ensuring meetings were filled with energy and fun. Speaking skills flourished and friendships blossomed - with an occasional dash of romance!
Sadly, after two or three years, membership dwindled as the demands of work, family and other commitments took its toll on some. But a core of dedicated toastmasters remained and now Sydney Singles Toastmasters Club is firmly established at its permanent home - Wests Ashfield. The caffiene addictions are still strong and are ably satisfied at the club's cafe. Speaking skills continue to flourish - members of our club have competed in District (State) finals for International, Evaluation, Humourous and Table Topics contests. Best of all, our membership is growing as we welcome new friends into our club. This year, we were delighted to be a founding club for Area 48 and look forward to continuing to grow.

You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you areto become better communicators.
At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. Our club meets twice a month for about 2 and a half hours. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation. Make this the year you visit Sydney Singles Toastmasters. And no, you don't need to be single.
